Weekly Photo Challenge : Peek

Are you serious; is it ‘Peek’? Really, that’s exactly what I thought when saw this weeks theme. Its one of my favourite topics and what attracts me most – when the monuments and nature peak through each other. Yes! being an Architect, monuments always attracts me more than anything else.

My first entry is the one taken long back at the Safdarjung Tomb, Delhi. The two lover birds peek through the hole above the entrance door.

The second one is again taken there but this time the huge tomb itself peeks through the greens.

This one was taken at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. The modern Lighthouse peeks above the ancient boundary wall.

I again come back to Delhi. This time the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ – the memorial remembering the martyr of the country peeks through the walls of India Gate.

Now, my personal favourite. The grand Tajmahal peeks through the intricate ‘jalis’ of the Agra Fort. The same view some Mr Shahjahan used to see during his exile and weep in the memory of his wife.
