What is permanent? The mountains? The rivers? The Ocean? – but they change their colours every moment. I really found nothing to be permanent so it was really difficult to find out what is not – everything in front of us is Temporary.

The huge Pandals and Idols, completely handcrafted by innumerable people throughout the year are meant only for a week – Yes – after that, the pandals and dismantled and the idols immersed. A yearlong preparation to create a Heaven on Earth for a week – ends with a mix of Joy and Sorrow and the preparation for the next year starts. This surely is the biggest carnival of arts and crafts in the world.

The job was to find out the one which looks more like permanent but in fact are temporary – and I jumped into the folders of pictures on my PC. To me, the most suited ones to the topic are the Idols and Pandals erected during the biggest festival in my city – Durgapuja.
